Myself and few others were invited to create a leaflet for the Musician against homelessness gig hosted by Crisis. As a group, we began by researching the issues surrounding homelessness as well as making ourselves familiar with music and event promotion design. It was decided that we should use the more ‘non-typical’ visuals related to homelessness to promote the event without the harsh negative imagery. We chose to do this because we wanted to lightly reference the cause whilst avoiding any provocative or obvious images of homelessness. The main purpose of the leaflet was to promote the event; therefore, this type of imagery would have distracted from the event details and text. The usage of the scrunched up paper was to show the audience the balance between musician and homelessness.
